i was on fb this weekend and saw 5 different posts of new puppy owners asking for potty training advice. Said pup was anywhere from 11-14 weeks old. I grit my teeth and scroll on past by the time I saw the 5th. I as a breeder would be horrified if a puppy parent posted this. My pup start at 3 weeks old being training. We work on potty training all day everyday till they leave at week 9. And some people pay extra for 2 more weeks training. But by 9 weeks they are well on the way to knowing where to pee. This is the difference between getting a pup from me that’s raised in my home with me home all day and getting a pup from a breeder that raises them in a barn/building and or works away from home during the day. If the breeder you are looking at has 3-4 litters at a time to chose from then tell me how they are training all those 30 puppies? How are they spending any training time other than clean up? Do they have hired help? Are those college kids training? You can get a pup from any breeder you choose. Just ask your self how much time do you want to spend cleaning up puddles. Would you rather be playing than cleaning? I’ll leave you this evening with that thought.
