Grooming

Today we are going to talk about grooming. Grooming a doodle. Most groomers have little experience in a true doodle look or cut. They instantly want to give a poodle or puppy cut. Main difference is the nose and chin hair. Be specific with the groomer. Take a picture with you of the cut you want. But remember they are just like hair dressers, they are not miricle workers. If your doodle has knots, be prepared for the shave. If you brush you dood often they have a blown out look. If you go all natural you get kink curls. Same as a person with natural curls. Your doods hair can have any look you want him to have. I prefer to groom every 6-8 weeks. A little trim all over and a good bath and deep brush. In between I brush twice a week.

Free to run

I left the pups have free run all day of the room. Normally we stick to half the room with pee pads close to the sleeping area and box. And they get free run outside or inside for an hour at a time. They are growing so fast and are ready for new adventures. Most still returned to the pads to pee. And all returned to take a nap. This creates a familiar space and makes it easy for them when training. We started with new collars today too. It won't be long before they are ready to be leashed. This is my favorite age. They recognize your voice and come running to play. They love to be picked up and snuggled and kissed.

The puparatzi

When ever I grab the camera everyone wants to see what I'm doing. So I have 20 little eyes staring up at me. Tomorrow we will do another weigh in. So far all 10 are very close in weight. We do not have any in this litter that are really small or really large. Only in personalities. Lol. I've attached a couple more photos from our afternoon outside today. They love to run and explore. The fallen leaves are fun to drag around. We started to learn steps today and are close to being able to pull themselves up.

Puppy update

9/21/14. The puppies continue to grow. Noticed today that most have started to get there adult coats. Hair is lengthening and curling. They are enjoying the puppy food mixed with milk replacement twice a day. Momma is still nursing in between. Today they have been very active and running around playing with each other.
