Teething

we are really teething today. I can’t imagine being a pup and the pain. As a parent we give toddlers meds and numbing rings and all sorts of things to help them. But pups don’t get that. I like to soak and freeze the catapiller toys. They help some. I give them chewing bones. But nothing really satisfies them completely. Fingers are what they want to chew on. But we can’t have that. So distraction it is. I redirect them to sit and then scratch their head or praise them for sitting. I will be doing some more training today. I wanted to get outside. They want outside. Last night they begged at the glass door. But it’s too wet and nasty. I will try tomorrow. They are ready. I’m over protective with going out. When it’s hot I’ll do it at 6 weeks. But when it’s cold and this litter is so small I’m waiting till they are bigger. They have a lifetime to go out. And plenty of time to learn potty outside. I don’t want a sick pup. They were 7 weeks this week. And most are over 5 lbs now.
