11/16/2017 Raw feedingsi too was scared to start raw. Kibble has been around so long why would I change. Well I first got introduced to raw about 10 years ago. We had a German Shepherd that had bad allergies. This dog came from imported lines and the breeder was exceptional. How could he have allergies. Well the answer is just like humans. Any one can have allergies. This dog had food and seasonal allergies. He would dig and dig till he bled. That’s when the vet recommended prescription food. We fed it for awhile but it was so expensive. At the time we boarded him while we went on vacation. The boarder is the one that recommended the raw. And it worked. Other than spring and fall when he needed Benadryl daily because of grass and leaves he did great. No more digging. The years past and I started breeding I fed the best kibble I could find. I researched for no recalls. Companies that put dehydrated pieces in their kibble. Then about a year ago my mom came to me and asked about raw. Her dog has bad allergies, is over weight, and has uti issues. You guessed it. The vet recommended an rx diet and she just couldn’t afford it. Plus it was high in calories. After reasesrching I decided to switch my girls too and give each pup parent the option when they take the pup home. I’m not a raw expert. But I can help you find the answers you need. Most vets are not fond of raw. Holistic vets are. But I still think vets get kick backs from the rx diets they sell. So I know how scary raw seems. You can make elaborate meals. Or you can feed pre mixes like I do. I will send home a raw feeding book to who ever wants to feed raw. But I wanted to take a picture of lunch today to show you how easy it is. I just defrost and weigh and dump. Done.
