Litter 9

curly had 8 healthy puppies on April 30th. 5 boys 3 girls. I may have a couple openings between curly and Dolly’s litters. I had closed waitlist and told everyone no spots till fall. But both have suprised me with larger litters than I expected. Dolly’s ultrasounds showed at least 7. I’ll know more in 2 weeks when dolly has her pups. Curlys pups are very small and going to me true minis. I’m guessing right now low 20’slbs. But Dolly’s will be on the larger side in the 30’slbs. I’ll know closer to 4 weeks old if we have any outliers and have larger or smaller in each litter. Dolly’s last litter is tracking in the mid 30’slbs and taller. Where curly is on the smaller shorter side and I expect them to be the same. As far as color Curlys are currently a dark apricot. I’m not sure I have any true reds in the litter. I expect them to fade to an apricot possible cream. 2 seem darker and may hold some color. Again I’ll know more in a couple weeks. Very similar to litter 6. I do expect some reds from dolly. Red is a hard color to hold. Most fade same and some fade a lot. So I’m honest on if I feel they will hold the red color. Curly is my unusual color girl. She changes color from light cream to almost a golden. Right now she is golden. When I cut her short she is a cream. I love her coloring and how she changes with cuts. And it’s not dirt. Lol. If I had her groomed right now she would still be golden. It’s her guard hairs that are darker. And because they grow at a different pace than undercoat this is what causes the color change. I love it. I haven’t noticed it in her pups though.

Thank you for taking the time to blog and share their personalities. It’s so helpful and it’s a joy to read about the pups!
