7/9/2016 Pick day 2we had lots of visitors today. I will update the current puppy page in a couple mins. But this is who is left. Red, orange, brown, black. We have 2 picks tomorrow. And the last pick Thursday. I should have one pup remaining as I have not heard back from the last pick. I believe she wanted a girl and I'm probably going to have a boy left. I will keep everyone posted. The 4 that are left are all close in size. But definitely different personalities. Orange and brown are playful little guys. Brown is always on his back. He likes to play with the corner of the blankets. I think he likes his belly rubbed the most. Orange is playful. He bounces around looking for someone to play. Black is quite. He will sleep by his self if he finds a good spot to nap. Red loves to be held. She is coming out of her shell and playing more with the rest. She is my all star with pee pad use. She likes the pads. She also adores my toes.
7/8/2016 Before I forgetcouple things. When you visit try to remember to give me your choice for pick up day. July 22nd is soonest they can go. I like between the July 29th and August 5th for most to start to leave. Anytime through out those 2 weeks is fine. Just remember at 8 weeks they have to potty often. If you are home and can do it great. If they need crated wait closer to the 9-10. It's all in what you can and can't do. And we can discuss that individually. Second remember to give me a name. I will start to use this name when we start to learn to sit and walk on leash. I know it seems like so far from now but honest in less than 2 weeks they will be bolting down the steps to the yard to potty and back in for a treat. A couple have already mastered the steps going up. The next 2 weeks will fly by. So remind me when you visit of the date and name. I get so busy and sometimes forget to ask. Tomorrow will be a very busy day. So I will do short posts on the available puppy page after each visit. I probably will not blog till tomorrow night.
7/8/2016 Sizingi posted pics and weights. It looks like green has really pulled ahead. Almost a pound bigger than the rest. And it looks like black has had a growth spurt too. Smallest is now blue and orange. Their weights have really changed a lot. And this is because they are eating growl and softened kibble. A couple were sleepy during photo shoot. So hopefully next weeks pictures are a little better.
7/8/2016 Week 6 pictures, weights, de wormerthis afternoon I will do weights and last dose of de wormer. As I do, I will take individual pictures again and post to current puppies page. I took Bella to vet yesterday. Blood work looked fine. But she did have a slight temp. So going to do a round of antibiotics. Not sure why she seems a little down. Not her perky self. I addressed the massive hair loss. But they feel it's normal with a large litter. She always sheds bad after birthing. I just thought it seemed more than normal. I know hormones cause the hair to grow while pregnant. But didn't realize after delivery that so much of it can fall out. So clean bill of health other than slight temp. I will have her re checked next week. I'm a worry wart. While I was at vet I took puppy poo to be tested. It came back negative no parasites. So this last dose of de wormer is just a precaution. And no need to de worm with anything else. And once we hit 8 weeks and do revolution that protects against parasites too. So more pics to come later today on puppy page and as each pick I'll post who is not available any more. Our next visitors are tomorrow morning and afternoon.
7/7/2016 Outside day 2well it doesn't take them long. All litters do the same thing. They are all under the steps. You know the spot with spider webs and pine needles. The spot I can't reach them. All 11 are under the steps playing with a big bone that one of the girls must have been saving for a future date. The same spot that Bella would have delivered them if I would have let her. I even tried spraying water on the concrete to entice them to come out and play but no luck. So I'm sitting on a beach blanket in the yard while they are under the steps playing.
7/7/2016 All outsidei have to be honest. I miss having an extra set of hands at this age. Usually my son is home for summer litters and he is a big help. He has a summer job this year and is not around. And my mom usually stops every couple days to see the pups and play with them. Well she broker her knee cap and is baby sitting my nephew full time. So it's just me. So I welcomed the help last night when husband helped me get them all outside. They are not big enough to use the stairs yet. Couple more days. We were out for about an hour. They loved it. The biggest thing you watch for is what they are putting in mouth. Some are great at not eating anything. Others eat everything including grass mulch flowers hair balls dirt. You have to teach them not to do this. Easier said then done. Below is all the pictures from last night. I fed them dinner outside too.
7/6/2016 Lots of blogs todayok. Vet exam. You all know that I've switched vets this litter. I really like Littlestown. They seem far more knowledgeable about reproduction and breeding than any vet I've used. In the past I have always vaccinated at 8,12,16. This litter I had decided to do the 6,10,14. So that they are protected sooner. People get impatient and expose pups early to stuff they shouldn't. Well Littlestown recommends the 8,12,16. They really want me to hold off till 8 weeks. I've spent most of the morning on the phone with them. I'm going to take their recommendations and wait. I had said before there are trade offs. They feel waiting is more beneficial than doing early. And I trust them. So vet visit is July 22nd at 10am. I will still be taking Bella tomorrow for an exam. She is thin. So I want to follow up to keep her in good health. She would starve her self for the puppies if I would let her. She insists on feeding them everything she eats. She is beyond a great mother. I have a hard time convincing her they can eat what I feed them. She would rather gobble it up and nurse them then regurgitate it later for them. She likes to be in control of when and how much they eat.
7/6/2016 Pictureshere are some random pics from after lunch. They are all being little food snobs. I tried the softened kibble yesterday and they just picked at it. I added back in the cereal today and the bowls were cleaned out. They learn so fast. Doodles can be picky eaters. You will have to see what works for your pup. Bella loves chicken. Curly loves pork. There are very limited foods available with wild boar. So Bella trumps Curlys choice. I've researched and researched and still prefer the merrick brand. That's me. For the most part the girls eat it. Once in a while they will go on strike and I buy some soft or some raw. But the pups need to start eating hard kibble soon. It helps teeth too. So this picky cereal bit will need to end. Just remember you need to be the pack leader. Lol. That's what I keep telling myself when I know I shouldn't give in.
7/6/2016 Outside grey green black orangei took 4 boys out this morning. We were out for about 30 mins playing. I had intended to take rest out but just too hot. Puppies can't regulate temp real well. And they were panting pretty hard. So I'll take rest out tonight. I posted some videos on Facebook this morning. And I'll continue to post and blog all week. As each person visits and decides I will do a blog so everyone knows who choose who. It will be a hard decision as so many boys look alike and girls look alike. This is my first ever litter that they are all so similar. Boys are light girls are dark. Boys are a little more happy go lucky. Girls are a little more dominant. Even the quite ones are dominate. Girls are a little bigger. Boys a little smaller. There are only slight differences in looks and personality. You will find all the pictures I took outside below. You should be able to tell who is who. Grey is darker. Green is bigger. Orange and black are a little harder but you can see collar in most pictures.
7/5/2016 Update to the screw upi started to blog about 2 hours ago. I was posting pictures and about to do some info till I got interrupted. Well I can't save drafts. If I stop I loose everything. So I posted what I had with no explanation. I'm sorry. I didn't want to loose what I had. The top big picture and gallery below are of yellow. She is a sweet quite gal. She is dark caramel. She likes to play with others but will wait her turn. She only gets feisty if someone gets on her back or bites her tail. She will stand her ground. The next big picture is of grey. And I will continue where I left off. The below pictures are of grey. He loves to be held. He will tell me when he wants picked up. He likes me to sit and play with him. He loves the one on one attention. He will take his foot and wave it at me. He is a dark caramel color as well. the last picture in the previous post was one of the light boys. But unfortunately that was 2 hours ago and I can't remember who I was going to post. Sorry. Just a little fried lately. So I'll post blue boy. blue is the happiest go lucky puppy. Wagging tail all the time. He prances over to the others and begs to play. He takes a toy with him to go potty. I laugh every time I see him do it. He loves his toys.
