i compared this litter to Bella's last and they are the exact same. If you followed that litter most are the size green and pink were. And black this litter is same as orange last litter. I will keep you updated as we compare and see if they stay this way. I also have included lots of close ups from last night.
we were hoping for a tighter grouping in size this litter. Esp with all born so close. But it appears we are going to have a range. If you look at the chart you will notice 2 are 7oz heavier than the smallest. So as you watch them grow you will want to follow the weights if you prefer larger or smaller.
i currently have 2 spots available for this litter. Contact me if you are interested. Probably going to be boys. Cream/apricot.
we are starting to see a separation in the weights. A couple are starting to look like little porkers. Meaning they are getting fat. A couple are growing at a much slower rate. It's amazing to watch them grow and see the size difference. They are doing great. Everyone is sucking well. Momma is doing good. She is eating well.
good morning. I did a weigh in. See chart below blog. Everyone is doing great. I have started to notice the weights are getting more scattered. It looks like girl 5 is not gaining as quick as the others. I will be making sure she is first at the milk bar when it's feeding time. You will also notice I have changed the bedding and added the carpet pad. This gives them traction. They tend to swim instead of walking when they can't grip. So the pad helps them stand quicker and is better for their hips. You will see in the pics above they instantly stand with the pad. I just put it in this morning. I did send out update emails yesterday so check your inboxes for pick dates and go home dates. It looks like we may have a spot on the waiting list so I will be returning more calls today. I will post the wait list on the current puppy page. So you know your number.
after over an hour of trying to convince curly to get out of box, I finally picked her up and carried her. I cleaned her up good. I did take a quick peek at each pup as I put them on the clean sheet. Everyone looks great. She is being very over protective. Some of it may be because Dolly keeps sticking her head in the box. Bella knows better. If you remember curly gets in box with Bella's litter and washes them the entire time Bella is nursing. But curly will not let anyone even look in her box at her babies. Dolly doesn't understand why she keeps getting snapped at. She just wants to look. I will do a weigh in later tonight after she settles back down. She is very upset that I bathed her and took her from her babies. I had to get her cleaned up. She was a mess and it causes the skin to get soar.
we have puppies. 8 healthy happy puppies. 5 boys, 3 girls. All apricot but one black. I'm still a little sleep deprived. She went into labor at 545 pm last night. First 3 were quick but I did have to help pull out. Then she took a 3 hour break. The next 5 were about an hour apart and most came out on their own. All are identical in size and color right now. 10-12 oz. other than the black. I will post lots more later after I get her all cleaned up, she won't leave the box yet other than to run out and back and won't let me move them to clean her box. I need to weigh again today, take pictures, and examine each one. But she is still very protective. I can sit in the box and rub her. But not pick up the puppies. So check back tonight later for an update and more info and pictures.
